Wow.\u00a0 What a list.\u00a0 These poor people.\u00a0 They are so restricted.\u00a0 How will they keep track?\u00a0 How will they manage?\u00a0 Well, meat is easy: Muslims that care to buy specially slaughtered meat do that, and they pay a small premium.\u00a0 That leaves all other meat: if it was not slaughtered by one of theirs, they might not want it.\u00a0\u00a0 This makes the list of things to avoid easier:<\/p>\n
Clearly Muslims are indisposed to having a scientific mind, and being entirely untrained by their five times daily, weekly or monthly visits to the mosque, they are completely unable to distinguish between wine and wine gums, between sugar and ceiling boards, and between milk and beef.<\/p>\n
In a world where everything from white sugar to pineapple rings might possibly be made of meat and alcohol, how will they survive?\u00a0 Who will arise to educate these poor people in the basic principles of chemistry and cooking?\u00a0 Who will defend these helpless souls against the relentless onslaught of a world of bacon-laced foods, so that they may seek to obtain their salvation by abstaining from them?<\/p>\n
Enter the certification agencies, who will certify everything from cake mix to curry powder that it does not contain:<\/p>\n
This is apparently necessary, because of the proliferation of meat based cake flours and alcoholic curry powders.\u00a0 No Muslim is competent to read the list of ingredients and determine that the cake contains baking powder, not bacon powder.\u00a0 This is too hard for them.<\/p>\n
The certification agencies market their unnecessary certification as a way of making sure that that large and significant discretionary spending of the Muslim population is spent not on funding their favourite Muslim propagation group, but on your particular brand of milk powder.\u00a0 The other part of their marketing budget is spent convincing gullible Muslims that they are committing a heinous sin for which they will be eternally condemned to hell if they dare to buy a hair growth formula that lacks a halal certification mark.\u00a0 (Don’t worry about lust, pride, evil thoughts and following lies, just buy halal).<\/p>\n
Actually, this certification has precious little to do with Islam, except that it is administered by Muslims and against Muslims.\u00a0 Any marginally inoffensive cause could do this.\u00a0 If hypothetically 1 percent of people in the country supported our soccer team, then they could certify all manner of product as “soccer friendly” and then tell the producers of the remaining products that if their products are not “soccer friendly” they will face the wrath of angry football hooligans, and besides, soccer moms prefer “soccer friendly” products.\u00a0 Fortunately, this cannot happen, since our soccer team is, for the moment, incapable of sustaining a winning streak or keeping a coach.<\/p>\n
A muslim writer, Shafiq Morton<\/a>, says:<\/p>\n Halal certification in South Africa (and elsewhere in the Muslim world) has become a billion dollar industry. A recent international Halal conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, attended by hundreds of representatives, confirms this.<\/p>\n The sad truth is that the Halal industry preys mercilessly upon the ignorance of its subjects, and its fears. I have seen this in the Far East, the Middle East, the Indo-Pak, the US, Great Britain and now South Africa.<\/p>\n However, Islam\u2019s legal schools of thought reveal that the understanding of Halal matters is based upon common sense. The corpus of Halal legislation was never designed for obscurantist scholarship, but practical application.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Apart from the view that South Africa is part of the Muslim world, the writer’s observation is excellent: the halal business of today has nothing to do with the teaching or practice of their prophet, who was quite happy to eat the meat of Christians and Jews.<\/p>\n One has to wonder what this thriving unnecessary certification business does with their profits.\u00a0 Actually, you don’t need to wonder.\u00a0 One of the agencies that administers a halal certification is the “Muslim Judicial Council<\/a>“.\u00a0 They have something in common with other many well known international Muslim movements: they believe deeply in Islamic jurisprudence, also known as sharia law.<\/p>\n Sharia law and the methods of those who promote it are well known in Nigeria, Palestine, Syria and other places of the world consistently unfriendly to non-Muslims.<\/p>\n When you give your money for goods marked “halal”, you give your money for the works done in the name of sharia law.<\/p>\n Just for the record, Kosher<\/em> certification is just as much a scam as Halal certification, if not more.
