{"id":1035,"date":"2015-12-09T09:13:49","date_gmt":"2015-12-09T07:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"\/\/www.mcgill.org.za\/stuff\/?p=1035"},"modified":"2015-12-12T20:56:36","modified_gmt":"2015-12-12T18:56:36","slug":"hello-china-goodbye-freedom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mcgill.org.za\/stuff\/archives\/1035","title":{"rendered":"Hello China, goodbye freedom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South African government and the ANC has started to flirt with China and take their loans.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s too good to be true.\u00a0 There&#8217;s a problem:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These loans are on very generous terms, and they come at a time where the country&#8217;s credit rating is close to &#8220;junk&#8221; meaning &#8220;you&#8217;re not getting your money back, fools&#8221;.\u00a0 The ANC is running out of businesses and projects to sell, so what is left to sell?\u00a0 The future.<\/p>\n<p>China is not ignorant of the moral character of the leaders of South Africa.\u00a0 They know that money that they lend will be frittered away, and that there will be severe difficulties in repayment.\u00a0 When this happens, then they will rule.\u00a0 As this happens they will make us slaves.<\/p>\n<p>When repayment in money fails, what repayment in kind will be demanded?\u00a0 Maybe we can look forward to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Citizenship or unequal rights for Chinese settlers<\/li>\n<li>Military concessions &#8211; outposts of the Red Army in every major centre, or in every rural centre.<\/li>\n<li>Political support &#8211; cutting ties with Taiwan, turning a blind eye to China&#8217;s abuses of freedom<\/li>\n<li>Policy changes &#8211; eliminating freedom in South Africa in favour of making South Africa more like China.\u00a0 Maybe a one-child policy to make South Africa a living hell.\u00a0 Maybe the mandatory use of various Chinese products &#8230; and languages &#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Territorial concessions &#8211; not just an industrial area, but a self-governing ever-growing industrial area.\u00a0 Maybe a Chinese court having jurisdiction over matters involving Chinese, crassly overruling any sovereignty of local courts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sadly a Chinese take-over of South Africa would result in a net improvement in the moral character of the country.\u00a0\u00a0 Once a few of their special people are targeted by the rampant thuggery that is smiled on by the ANC there will be some sharp action.\u00a0 Maybe they are exactly what the ANC deserves for their many sins.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know how we will ever get back to freedom though.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The South African government and the ANC has started to flirt with China and take their loans.
